Millennials: The Misunderstood Generation
I've written an eBook about all three of the workforce generations. I came across numerous sources that called Millennials weak, lazy, unmotivated and unfocused.
Being a Baby Boomer which is considered the Greatest Generation, I felt bad for Generation Y. These relatively new additions to the workforce have much to prove and are starting out with a bad rep, no thanks to generalization.
Perhaps instead of condemning a generation that is soon to be the majority of the workforce we should learn to understand them so we can motivate them to achieve the greatness they were promised as children. I came across a video from Simon Sinek which will help us understand Generation Y that I think hiring managers and business owners should watch.

Holstein Sire Evaluations to Change by April 2018
Holstein sire evaluations will change by April 2018, according to an article I read in Dairy Herd Management. There will be six health traits added. These are ketosis, metritis, hypocalcemia, retained placentas, and displaced abosamus, in no particular order.
These health traits are to be incorporated into indexes so dairy farmers can estimate the total economic value. Preliminary evaluations of health traits will be performed in December 2017. These will be released to AI organizations, Dairy Records Processing Centers, and also to breed associations. However, these will be non-official and will not be released to the public. Here is a link to the full article.

South Korea Removes U.S. Poultry Ban
U.S. broiler companies will be thrilled to hear that South Korea has lifted the ban on poultry and poultry products from the U.S. According to an article in Poultry Times, the ban was lifted for products slaughtered after August 16, 2017.
This is a big move for the egg and poultry industry. Sonny Perdue, the U.S. Agriculture Secretary, says that "South Korea is one of our best trading partners, and we want to continue being their most dependable supplier of high-quality food and farm products."
Poultry groups are rejoicing over this new development. However, they also call for a regional approach with regard to HPAI outbreaks, should there be any in the future. Read the full article here.
