FILM SERIES
INTERFAITHOUT! RECLAIMING OUR FAITH
Sunday, March 27, 2pm
JERUSALEM IS PROUD TO PRESENT (2007, Israel, in Hebrew, Arabic, Yiddish, and English, Nitzan Giladi, 82 min, color, DVD)—This documentary follows the effort to hold the 2006 World Pride celebration and march in Jerusalem. Advocates met with sharp opposition from Jewish, Muslim, and Christian religious leaders, faced accusations of "homo-sexualizing the Middle East," received serious threats of violence, and ultimately were vastly outnumbered by their opposition. Film is followed by a moderated discussion and reception. Presented in partnership with SAVE Dade and sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Miami's Herrschaft Lecture and Cultural Fund. For more information or to RSVP: 305.535.2644 or lydia@thewolf.fiu.edu. Free.
